Cabin Rentals for 2021
Unfortunately, we will not be able to rent out the camps as a whole in the spring of 2021 due to the pandemic. However, we have another option for you to consider:
We will be renting out 8 cabins at Catoctin Quaker Camp as campsites. Each campsite will be equipped with a fire pit & picnic table, and campers will have access to the bathhouse. The other public areas (Lodge, dining hall etc.) remained closed but renters are able to make use of the grounds and fire circles.
To reserve a campsite at Catoctin, go to HipCamp.com and enter search term “Catoctin” or Thurmont MD and look for cabins at Catoctin. They will be listed as “Elizabeth’s Cabin (#5) at Catoctin,” or “Tom’s Cabin (#14) at Catoctin,” etc. all named after Friends from Quaker history.
Cabins will be rented for $75.00/night with a 2 night minimum. There will be a 5% discount for Sunday through Thursday nights. Guests will be allowed to have up to 8 people in each cabin. We will try to have firewood and ice available for campers to use and pay for on the honor system.
Opequon and Shiloh will not be open for cabin rental in the spring of 2021. We look forward to offering rentals at all three camps again in the fall of 2021.
About the Camps
All the camps are closed from October 31st to April 1st annually.
Our facilities are very primitive. The Camper shelters are screened but open to the natural world as well as the elements. There are no outdoor lights or electricity in and around these cabins to mar the areas natural beauty. The staff cabins are enclosed but not heated or insulated. They have no plumbing and have minimal electrical service. The grounds are not lighted and flashlights are essential for getting around at night. You must provide your own bedding, including mattresses.
The kitchens are well equipped and have most of the utensils and appliances that one would expect. Stoves, refrigerators, pots, pans, bowls, utensils and table settings are available for you to use but may need to be rinsed off first.
We ask that you please replace any items that you use. You will do your own cooking and need to bring food and paper goods. Warm bedding or sleeping bags, camp mattresses, flashlights and bug spray are important parts of a pleasant visit. Other items that you may want to consider include: Rain Poncho, Toiletries, Towels, Change of Clothes, Comfortable Shoes, Shower Shoes, Warm Sweater or Jacket, First Aid Kit, and Sunscreen.
Notice About Hunting Season
Renters should make themselves aware of the beginning and ending dates of the hunting seasons in the state where the camp is located. We do not allow hunting on our property during the rental season but cannot speak for the land owners around us.
