Shiloh Quaker Camp Session 1 Report

By July 11, 2018 SQC

Greetings Camp Families!

As I am taking a minute to write to you, I can hear people cheering each other on the 4-square court, as the cooks work hard to plate the sloppy joe’s and┬ádelicious sides we’ll eat for dinner. Tonight after chores we will be having a fashion show/dance to celebrate this session’s “special day.” The theme? SONGBOOK COMICON, of course. All of the campers and staff are currently dressed as characters from our beloved songbooks. Costumes range from George Fox from the George Fox Song to “a rock” from “Build your house just like a rock.”

Earlier this┬ámorning, after a meeting for worship with a lovely query about our relationship with music, the campers found out what trips were available for project week, a time when campers and counselor units are all mixed up by unit based on interests. This week we have a rock climbing and composition trip, a “heavy hiking” trip, a canoeing and spirituality trip, a service trip to a lavender farm, and an exploration and survival trip. Ask your campers all about it. I have to go! Almost time for the dance. Here are some pictures of Units, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 before leaving on their trips last week. Enjoy!
