Hello Shiloh Families!
We have had a great week here at camp! Although this morning we said goodbye to 12 of our younger campers, who were here for our one week session, we just had a great lunch meeting about what made us feel welcome when we got to camp. Now, we are super excited to greet the 14 new campers who are arriving this afternoon! There is even a hospitality crew of counselors and campers ready and waiting.
Last night, we were lucky enough to host the Traveling Players who ate dinner with us and then performed A Twelfth Night in the open air. The Players are a group of high school students who spend the summer performing a Shakespeare play all over the Washington D.C. area. This is their second year coming to Shiloh and we love them!
Last week’s trips were a huge success. Units 2, 4, and 5 all went on beautiful hiking trips in and around Shenandoah National Park. Unit 3 went on a fancy themed canoeing trip on the James River and saw “at least 4” bald eagles. Meanwhile, Unit 1 went to Living Energy Farm in Louisa Virginia. They helped build a stucco house, harvested, and enjoyed learning about living without fossil fuels. More adventures to come…
