Teen Adventure Bike News

Bike (reduced) (200x133)The cycling campers & counselors have had a wet but Way Opening first week! They traveled up the Shenandoah Valley and are currently visiting Opequon Quaker Camp where they will also have a day of rock climbing before heading down Skyline Drive toward Shiloh Quaker Camp. We had hoped to visit all three camps, but, alas, Catoctin is just too far to make it on a bicycle in the time we have and still have time for “camp” activities along the way!

The group was hosted by Valley Friends Meeting, Hopewell Meeting, and several other friendly churches along the way. They’ve experienced singing, sharing, some struggling (uphill) and LOTS of laughing! And of course eating!!! Cyclists burn up to 3 times their normal calorie intake, so the trail food has been plentiful!

Thank you for letting us spend this time with your teen!

With Gratitude,

Tasha Walsh, TA Bike Director
