Work Grants
In response to great demand, we’re bringing back our Work Grant program at Catoctin, Opequon, and Shiloh in 2023! Work Granters have historically played an incredibly valuable role in both the operations and the spirit of the BYM Camps. As a Work Granter, you will be an important part of another incredible and unique summer at BYM Camps in 2023.
Work Granters can serve camp in one of three roles:
Kitchen Assistant,
Maintenance Assistant
Medical Assistant
Most Work Granters are at camp for one week, but if you want to and are able to stay and work for two weeks, that certainly is possible. Please let us know all of your preferences. We’ll do our best to meet them.
The compensation for being a Work Granter is $500 per week, and that is given to you in the form of camper financial aid. That financial aid can be applied to a specific camper or campers, or it can be applied to the general BYM Campership Fund, which supports financial aid for all campers and families. Please indicate your preferences below.
Many Work Granters are parents, but you are absolutely not required to have a camper attending camp in order to be a Work Granter. Also, please know that through the our Sliding Scale Tuition System, there are many ways for all families to access financial aid and send their kids to camp, no matter their situation.
Once you submit your application form, we will reach out as soon as possible with any questions we might have, to share next steps, and to potentially confirm your Work Grant location and dates for Summer 2023.
Let us know if you have any questions, and we hope to see you at camp!

Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in volunteering at BYM Camps in a different way – either performing a different task or being on a different schedule than a Work Grant – please reach out to us directly, and we’ll see if there’s a good way for you to contribute to camp!
